Leave the noise of the city behind and embark on a truly special wine journey to the only university winery in Bulgaria — the cellar of the Agrarian University – Plovdiv.
Among the university’s vineyards, more than 400 grape varieties are cultivated and preserved, forming an exceptionally rich genetic collection that places Bulgaria among Europe’s leading countries in varietal diversity gathered in one location. In the heart of these vineyards stands the university winery itself, built in 1969 — the only experimental micro-vinification cellar in Bulgaria and one of just 28 university wineries worldwide.
Here, academic knowledge, research, and terroir come together in every glass. The experience is enriched with a gourmet addition: a visit to a local artisan cheesemaker, where traditional Bulgarian craftsmanship meets the scientific precision of university winemaking.
A refined tasting experience that reveals the authentic taste of place — just outside Plovdiv.
